Herceg Novi links a 5 cm RGB+NIR orthophoto, 150 pts/m² classified LiDAR and a complete LoD2 dataset with solar information for 16,817 buildings to operational browser-based solar and 3D Geoportal modules.
One municipal spatial-information chain from reality capture to browser access
The two-phase programme connected current city-scale imagery and LiDAR with structured building and roof data, solar-potential analytics and a municipal 2D/3D web environment.

High-resolution acquisition across a complex coastal and mountainous footprint
The documented acquisition covered Herceg Novi and two Luštica areas, combining dense airborne LiDAR, four-band RGB+NIR imagery and measured ground control.



Turning dense point data into a complete LoD2 building and roof dataset
Georeferencing, colourization, classification, vectorization and manual correction transformed the raw acquisition into a complete LoD2 building and roof dataset suitable for building-level and solar analysis.

From roof geometry to building-level solar-potential information
Structured roof facets were populated with annual and monthly solar-potential indicators and potential per unit area, using the documented project model assumptions.

Making the spatial foundation operational in a standard browser
Phase II exposed the project data through an open-source municipal Web GIS environment with MapSoft responsibility for the Geoportal, roof-solar analysis and interactive 3D city and point-cloud module. The Geoportal remains operational as of September 2026.
The wider contractor solution also includes a property-tax / decision-delivery module developed by B-ONE; MapSoft's software scope focuses on the Geoportal, solar-analysis and 3D modules.

Users can select roof surfaces and inspect area, total annual potential, potential per square metre and monthly values within the Geoportal map environment.

Interactive 3D city and point-cloud module
The operational browser-based module provides interactive access to the colorized point cloud, city objects and mapped locations.

A data foundation that continues into operational municipal use
The project combines high-resolution geospatial products, structured solar data and real software interfaces rather than treating acquisition and software as separate outputs.

One measurable chain from reality capture to municipal spatial intelligence
The Municipality received an up-to-date high-resolution four-band orthophoto and dense classified 3D point cloud over 3,484 ha, together with a complete LoD2 building dataset and solar-potential attributes for 16,817 buildings. Phase II made these data usable through browser-based solar analysis and an interactive 3D city and point-cloud module. The Geoportal remains operational as of September 2026. The wider platform also presents property-tax/decision information, but that software module remains B-ONE's responsibility.
What this project proves
Herceg Novi demonstrates MapSoft's ability to connect both core pillars in one coherent delivery: city-scale geospatial acquisition and data production, complete LoD2 building/roof geometry with domain-specific solar intelligence, and real browser-based 2D/3D municipal applications. It also proves disciplined partner integration by keeping B-ONE's tax module correctly attributed.
